Transformers II Project for PPC Interactive
Crossplatform is delighted to announce the successful delivery of the Transformers II ‘We are Autobots’ project for PPC Interactive and Total Immersion.
Designed as a promotion for ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, a team, led by Crossplatform’s CTO Andrew Elia, was briefed to produce a unique piece of marketing collateral. The promotion, which has seen one of the earliest tie-ins between facial recognition and film marketing was successfully implemented in time for the European theatrical and US home entertainment release on Blu-ray and DVD.
The campaign, which created an interactive environment for potential viewers of the film, invited fans to visit a Transformers website. On reaching the site, their image could be transmitted through use of a webcam into the website where it was overlaid with the face of Optimus Prime. The features remain in place even when the consumer moves about.
‘We are Autobots’ has been rated one of the top 10 ad campaigns of 2009 by Brand Republic and continues to receive plaudits throughout the industry. Co-founder of Crossplatform, Nick Brown comments, “We are extremely proud that Andrew and his team have played such a major role in this project and delighted that the campaign has received the incredible take up it deserves.”
