New Projects for Australian Consumer Electronics Giant
Crossplatform is pleased to announce the delivery of the first in a series of augmented reality campaign for the Australian consumer electronics retailer Dick Smith.
Featuring a presenter called Gray, consumers are encouraged to visit a webpage or take their brochure to an in store kiosk. On holding the brochure up to the web, the brochure triggers an augmented reality guided tour of various consumer electronics products, from Nikon cameras to Tomtom satellite navigation systems. The promotion has been designed to educate customers on key products within the brochures and drive footfall in store.
Crossplatform has been responsible for development of the 3D and AR software for the campaign. “Our work with Dick Smith has yielded an excellent flavour of edutainment using Augmented Reality,” comments Nick Brown, Crossplatform co-founder, “This is not only an innovative way of showcasing new products, but a vivid way of demonstrating that Dick Smith is continually on the cutting edge of technological developments.
