Augmented Reality Promotion for Wallpaper

Crossplatform is delighted to announce the delivery of an augmented reality publishing promotion for IPC’s Wallpaper Magazine.

The project, which involved taking existing 3D objects featured in the magazine and turning them into an AR experience, was designed to demonstrate the union of print and online through application of augmented reality. The creative uses the front cover of the magazine to play an animated version of a series of Penrose-style shelves which rise up from the surface of the magazine and push out various objects featured in the magazine which are then seen floating around the screen.

Crossplatform’s CEO, Nick Brown comments, “It has been a privilege to work with IPC on such a significant project which marks the beginning of a new era in print publishing. For the first time, print and online can work in combination rather than online being perceived as a threat. It’s an important step forward for the industry and one that we are delighted to have helped pioneer.”
